So a week or so ago, on my way to my partner’s place, my Bernese Mountain Dog puppy, Delilah threw up in her crate. As you can imagine, ewwww.
Earlier in the journey, she had started whining, and I pulled off the highway and brought her out to see if she needed to pee or poop. She didn’t. So I put her back in her crate and continued on.
Cue the ralphing.
Apparently she had gotten into my garbage in the bathroom-remember to keep the doors shut-and she ate a makeup wipe. It came right back up, accompanied by some kibble. She then peed in the kennel, probably due to her fear.
So we pulled off at the next exit ramp and I started cleaning things up. With a very small piece of tissue paper and a poopy bag.
Right then and there, I realized I needed a “puppy accident pack”.
So when I returned from my visit, I put together all the things I wished I’d had with me on that trip. I utilized a shopping basket from my parents, that had a hard frame and handles.
Here’s what I put in:
- Clorox wipes
- Puppy wipes
- Paper towel
- Poopy bags
- Large garbage bags in which to put soiled bedding if needed
- A bag of treats
- A little container of kibble
- 6′ lead

So now I’m prepared for anything that will happen on our next adventures!
