  • Log in to your WordPress admin panel, and click Users.
  • Click on your user name.
  • Scroll down to the “NAME” section. There you will see a space to enter your nickname. Here you can type in your real name, pen name or actual nickname.
  • The next line says “Display name publicly as:” and a drop down name. Choose one that is NOT your login name, and it will use the nickname for your author name, thus protecting your log in name.

Just a few simple steps to customize your login name on your WordPress website or blog!
